Khacoli Studio owner Shubhra Jain has more than 12 years of experience in HR. She was always passionate about fashion designing that’s why she did a course in fashion designing from Bhopal. But as it happens in conventional business families, she wasn’t supported to follow her dreams. But as they say if you don’t chase dreams, then dreams chase you. That’s why she found best partner and friend in her husband Rakesh and together they build Khacoli.

The handloom niche she has chosen is definitely risky as maximum people in India have notion that handlooms are expensive and durability is not that great as well. The husband wife duo is determined to break those notions. Khacoli is making outfits be it kurta, kurta dresses, shirts, tops and various other pieces that can be worn in multiple ways. This is evident from their dresses. You can check their facebook page here

Khacoli follows 2C mantra which is contemporary + comfortable clothing. Each design is worked in great detail so that every outfit gets a personality. Khacoli uses loom technology to maximize the usage of Indian weaved cloth and create benchmark to reduce imported cloth materials. These dresses are not only stylish but also pocket friendly.

When I asked Shubhra how she coordinates with weavers? She said it is very challenging task as she sources outfits from weaves in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and various other regions. She also shared her future plans of setting up a training center to train local women in stitching, weaving, embroidery so that they can earn their living and become independent. Though her brand is only four months old but she is getting lot of positive response for her designs.

That’s why Khacoli has been roped by Steel Bird Entertainment for their music band and they are doing dresses for the band which aren’t like traditional handloom thingies. The black colour jackets are super amazing and I would love to own one.
